DESCRIPTION:Château de Meux\, édifié au XVIe siècle et reconstruit par 
 la famille Chesnel\, qui s’y est succédé sur neuf générations. Il co
 nstitue un témoin saintongeais de la première phase de reconstruction qu
 i suivit la guerre de Cent Ans. Restauré en 1972 par Mme Guilbot\, le ch
 âteau a révélé la présence d’ouvertures gothiques sur l’un des mu
 rs\, permettant de situer l’origine du premier édifice au début du XII
 Ie siècle\, avant sa destruction pendant la guerre de Cent Ans.\n\nhttps:
