Symbols of strength, baobabs enjoy impressive longevity: the oldest baobab, known as "la Grand-Mère", is said to be over 1,600 years old... Pascal Maïtre portrays this giant in 30 sublime photos. "Photographing a baobab evokes magic, fairy tales and daydreams as much as reality. My work tells of the close bond between these trees and mankind. This mythical tree is part of Malagasy daily life. Without baobabs, people cannot survive."
